SSA falls into Phase 4 (Arts / Entertainment / Recreation and Education) category of activities in the NY State plan for reopening the state economy.

1) The practical upshot of this is that we must delay our opening at least until the week of 13 July.

2) To ensure the health and safety of our staff and students, we are cancelling our regular weekly sailing offerings.

3) We still plan to offer sailing opportunities and instruction; we will provide more information about our offerings by the end of May. So check back!

If you have already paid for one or more of our cancelled sessions, you can request a refund or be credited for a future session.

SSA Program placement guidelines listed for each instructional level (See the Youth Program Page for details.) are provided to assist you in determining which program might be the best fit for your child, given age/ grade, experience, and comfort level. All final program placements are made at the discretion of our Head Instructors; they’ll will work with you to ensure the best program placement for your child.

The number of students per class is limited and registration is done on a first registered, first served basis. As a result, SSA classes are typically full by the middle of May. Class sizes are determined based on the safety needs of students and cannot be increased in order to accommodate late registrations. Once classes reach enrollment limits, waiting lists are generated by program week.

SSA program costs are determined based on providing quality instruction and equipment. SSA will offer an early registration discount for all registrants in lieu of offering a discount for registering multiple children of a family.

Payment – we are accepting reservations now, through our Google Forms site, but are deferring payment until nearer to the start of instruction. You’ll receive information on payment, completing registration through our normal service (Active), waivers, and medical info nearer to the beginning of instruction.
