Co-Head Instructors

We are extremely pleased to announce that we have two excellent head instructors this season, Rylee Wernoch and Abby Kreinheder.

Head Instructor Rylee Wernoch I am Rylee Wernoch, a rising senior at Hobart and William Smith Colleges where I major in Biology and Environmental Studies. I grew up sailing at Metedeconk River Yacht Club in Optis, Lasers, 420s and Lightnings. I’ve instructed at Island Heights Yacht Club NJ, and, over the last two summers I have worked in Geneva with the Finger Lakes Institute to protect and celebrate the Lakes. I am a member of the William Smith Soccer team and I have just returned from studying abroad in South Africa. I am so excited for the opportunity to join SSA this summer and share my passion for sailing!

Head Instructor Abby Kreinheder I am Abby Kreinheder and I just completed my first year at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. I grew up sailing on Chautauqua Lake, not far from Geneva. I competed first in Optis, then moved to Lasers, and then on to 420s. I have worked as a sailing instructor for the JP Program out of the Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club and for the Chautauqua Institution Sailing Center. I’ve spent a lot of my life on the water and I’m looking forward to sharing that experience and a great summer sailing on Seneca with you!

Rye Weber

Assistant Instructor Rye Weber I am Rye Weber and I have lived in Geneva my entire life.  In the fall, I will be a freshman at Cornell University studying chemical engineering.  I started sailing at SSA when I was twelve and have been entranced by sailing ever since. I’ve raced 420s at many regattas for over the years along with a couple laser regattas as well. This will be my second year as an assistant instructor and I look forward to seeing both new and familiar faces this summer!
